About Kanak Vrindavan Garden
Kanak Vrindavan is a beautifully restored garden complex set in a green valley below the Aravalli hills, on the Amer Road close to the Jal Mahal. With its symmetrical lawns, fountains, temples and carved marble pavilions, it is one of the most picturesque garden retreats around Jaipur.
History
The garden was created in the 18th century during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who is said to have been captivated by the valley's resemblance to Vrindavan, the land of Lord Krishna — hence its name. It was later restored to its former beauty and is now a well-kept public attraction.
What to see
The complex combines a formal Mughal-style garden with temples dedicated to Krishna, fountains, water channels and finely carved stone pavilions. Its lush setting and photogenic architecture have made it a favourite backdrop for Bollywood films and for wedding and pre-wedding photography.
