Galtaji — popularly the "Monkey Temple" — is an ancient pilgrimage site set in a rugged gorge in the hills just east of Jaipur, known for its spring-fed sacred tanks (kunds) and its resident troops of monkeys.
History
Associated with the saint Galav, the site is centuries old; most of the pink temple buildings date to the 18th century.
Why visit
The natural water tanks, the tiered temples tucked into the ravine, the hilltop Sun Temple above, and the playful monkeys make it atmospheric and unusual. It is also a fine spot for sunset views over the city.
