Teej Festival

Teej welcomes the monsoon and celebrates the reunion of Parvati with Lord Shiva. Women dress in green and red, adorn their hands with henna, and swing on flower-decked jhulas.

The highlight is the ceremonial Teej Mata procession, which winds from the City Palace through the old city's bazaars with elephants, camels, palanquins and folk performers.
