Gangaur Festival

Gangaur is one of Rajasthan's most important festivals, honouring Gauri, a form of the goddess Parvati, as the symbol of marital devotion. For eighteen days women worship clay idols of Gauri and Isar.

The celebrations culminate in a magnificent procession of the goddess's image, carried from the City Palace with decorated elephants, folk dancers and musicians.
